The AstraZeneca vaccine will not be used for women under 60 years of age with an increased risk of thrombosis. This was announced at a briefing by the Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kostadin Angelov. The decisions announced by the Headquarters are as follows:
- AstraZeneca vaccine should not be used for women under 60 years of age with an increased risk of thrombosis and/or a history of thrombocytopenia.
- All people who received the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine and did not experience any serious side effects can be immunized with a second dose of the same vaccine.
- Individuals who have been vaccinated with the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine and do not wish to receive a second dose of the same vaccine may receive a dose of Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine no earlier than 84 days after the first dose of AstraZeneca. The immunization is then considered complete.
- In individuals who have contracted COVID-19 after administration of the first dose of vaccines with a two-dose immunization schedule, the second dose should be given no earlier than 6 months after laboratory confirmation of the diagnosis.
- Individuals who have already had COVID-19 may be vaccinated with a full immunization schedule no earlier than 3 months after laboratory confirmation of the diagnosis.

A total of 388,815 are the proven cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria at the moment, 62,481 of which are active. 310,922 people have already been cured with 4,244 registered during the past 24 hours. A total of 8,834 patients with COVID-19 were admitted to hospitals. There are 780 of them in intensive care. The doses of vaccines against coronavirus administered in our country are a total of 645,486. Of these, 7,044 have been administered in the last 24 hours. 15,412 are the deceased with 217 registered during the past 24 hours.
