Indoor restaurants, coffee shops and more will open in Bulgaria on June 1

The Ministry of Health announced that the Minister of Health of Bulgaria issued an order cancelling some of the measures introduced because of COVID-19. According to the order, as of May 26th, cultural and entertainment events are allowed (such as theatres, concerts, stage events, classes in dance, creative and musical arts, etc.).

However, they are allowed to operate with up to 30% of their total indoor capacity and up to 50% of their total outdoor capacity and with a maximum use capacity of the halls according to the area of ​​the premises but with no more than 20 people for group activities and no more than 1 person per 4 square meters. The order of the Minister of Health also states that from 01.06.2020 visits to indoor areas of restaurants, fast food restaurants, coffee shops, children’s and sports indoor facilities and entertainment establishments are allowed, including those in shopping malls. The exceptions are discos, piano bars and night bars and clubs. They will remain closed for now.

Also, as of June 1st, all extracurricular activities such as children’s clubs and centres and so on are allowed. From May 26th, individual and collective sports activities for children up to 18 years of age are allowed indoors and outdoors. These activities should not be competitive and should be without an audience.

For the past 24 hours, 1557 PCR tests were performed in Bulgaria. 17 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified as announced by the National Operational Headquarters. 11 of them are in Sofia, of which 8 are hospitalized. 3 are in Shumen, 2 in Pazardzhik and 1 in Yambol. Thus, the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection since the beginning of the epidemic in Bulgaria reached 2460. The patients with COVID-19 in hospitals are 217 with 22 of them in intensive care. There are 32 newly cured patients for the past 24 hours making the total number of cured people 912. Sadly, 3 new deaths were also registered. Thus making the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Bulgaria 133.
