Boruna Park
Veliko Tarnovo is a very beautiful town that has always enchanted foreigners with its tiered architecture. In October 1907 the popular National Geographic magazine published the travel notes of the American traveller Felix J. Cox entitled Tarnovo – the town of the hanging gardens; the author was smitten with the splendour of the town. Many professional gardeners have worked in the old capital of Bulgaria at the beginning of last century; they’ve created one of the most exquisite and distinguished parks in the country.
In order to revive this tradition and put it in a modern day perspective Veliko Tarnovo Municipality is organizing the First Park Festival in the town. It will be held on June, 21st from 11 am at Boruna Park, near Asenevtsi Monument.
There will be Park and garden exposition with many landscapers, gardeners and flower growers presenting their work, production and different garden accessories. There will also be children workshops for building bird houses and flower planting lessons.
Everyone will be presented with the opportunity to hang a personally made butterfly or a well-wish for Veliko Tarnovo’s efforts to win the European capital of culture 2019 contest on a special Tree of Happiness.
It is going to be a great day with lots of fun in one of the most beautiful places in Veliko Tarnovo.
