Latino rhythms at Asenevtsi Monument

news_13592_556312789del padreTwo internationally-renowned musicians – Roberto Quintero and Juan Garcia-Herreros – are to visit Veliko Tarnovo where they will perform a concert alongside the Bulgarian group – Banda Del Padre. The show will take place on 10th August, from 9 pm, at Asenevtsi Monument.

Robert Quintero has played with some of the biggest names in rumba, salsa and Latino-jazz genres – Eddie Palmieri, Cachao, Gerardo Rosales, Richard Bona as well as Mark Anthony. He has won 2 Grammy awards and also has another nomination.

Juan Garcia-Herreros, also known as “The Snow Owl”, is a native born Colombian Bassist & Composer, notable for his virtuoso musicianship and for his use of a customised 6-stringed Electric Contrabass Guitar. He plays a variety of genres – jazz, funk, salsa, ethno and Latino. He has played alongside Al Jarreau, Shakira, Kristina Aguilera and Elton John.

Banda Del Padre was created 3 years ago and is the only Bulgarian group for Spanish and Fusion genres in Bulgaria.

A journey back in time on Mount Buzludzha

More than 1000 members and followers of the Bulgarian Socialist Party from Veliko Tarnovo area are expected to take part in the traditional Mount Buzludzha Fest. The event is going to take place on July, 31st and August, 1st. The official launch of Buzludzha 2015 is scheduled for 10.30 am on Friday. Second Honey Fest in Elena

During last year’s festival

The second Honey feast in the town of Elena will take place on July, 25th (Saturday) from 10.30 am at the town’s square. Many folklore singers and musicians as well as dance formations will take part in the celebrations. Visitors will hear interesting facts about honey, honey products and bees. Participants from 32 countries are coming for the International seminar in Bulgarian language and culture

University of Veliko Tarnovo

Over 100 participants are coming to Veliko Tarnovo for the XXXVIII International seminar in Bulgarian language and culture. It is starting today and will last until August, 9th; it will be hosted by St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. The seminar gathers students, PhD candidates, lecturers as well as people from various occupations showing interest in this field. The participants are coming from 32 counties with the youngest one being just 17 years old and the oldest one being 69. Continue Reading

ABBA Tribute Concert in Veliko Tarnovo

The Summer Theatre in Marno Pole Park

ABBA’s timeless hits will take over the towns of Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse and Lovech. The ABBA Tribute Concert in Veliko Tarnovo will be held on July 5th from 8 pm, the venue being Veliko Tarnovo Summer Theatre at Marno Pole Park. Famous Bulgarian singers and bands in collaboration with Ruse Philharmonic Orchestra are going to perform the greatest tracks of ABBA, one of  the all-time super groups in music history.
