Organics Farmers Market to be opened in Veliko Tarnovo

Organic Food Producers have voiced their request for a specially designated Farmers Marker where there can sell their fresh produce. According to them it will be best if it is held once a week at a place allocated by the Municipality. Talks about the exact location are underway now; farmers hope that it will be a lively spot which can be visited by everyone interested, like Marno Pole Park or Buzludzha Neighbourhood. Fruit, vegetables, dairy and meat products will be offered at the Organic Farmers Market. Most likely the first edition of the event is going to be around Veliko Tarnovo’s Official Holiday – March, 22^nd.

Tsarevgrad Tarnovo Municipal Tourism Agency has come up with a brilliant idea – citizens of Veliko Tarnovo now have the opportunity to invite Father Christmas to visit their homes and to bring joy and delight to their children on 24 and 25 December 2015.

The stopover of the joyous, white-bearded man can be prearranged at the Tourist Information Centre Street at 5 Hristo Botev str and/or by phone – 062/622 148, 062/600 768 and 0887 659 829. The fee is 25 leva.

Price of land near Veliko Tarnovo is on the rise

Now that it became clear that Hemus Highway will pass about 20 km north from Veliko Tarnovo, the price of land around the old capital rose significantly. Plots are now sold for 1500 leva per 1000 sqm; as a year ago they rarely exceeded 1,200 leva per 1000 sqm. Agricultural plots of land near the town of Pavlikeni and the village Nikyup are the most sought after. There are expectations their value will go even higher.

After the last alterations it was decided that the route of the highway will now go past Pavlikeni, reaching 20 km away from Veliko Tarnovo – north of Resen and south of Nikyup. Continue Reading

Veliko Tarnovo with a new shopping centre

The new shopping centre

A new mall will open within the next month, it was announced by a local newspaper. It is located in the very centre of the town, just a stone throw’s away from the Green market. It will be smaller than the already existing one but still with its 10,000 sqm will bring joy to the shopping fans.

The shopping complex will host more than 30 shops, a bank branch, cafés and a restaurant. There will be also two parking lots, one of which – underground; they will have a combined capacity of 100 vehicles. Continue Reading

Every village in Veliko Tarnovo region with video surveillance

Authorities have announced that each village in Veliko Tarnovo area will have its own video surveillance by the end of the year. CCTVs are on top of the priorities’ lists of the mayors of the 34 villages and the two small towns of Debelets and Kilifarevo which fall within the jurisdiction of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality.

The first CCTV camera in a local village was set up about five years ago; by the beginning of the year the number of settlements with video surveillance has reached 27 with 180 cameras. The last 9 places without this feature will have it before the end of the year.
