Becoming stronger as a team ASHTANGA YOGA VELIKO TARNOVO and YOGA CLUB BREATHE have joined forces to spread the love of yoga around Veliko Tarnovo. The main studio is based on Ulitsa (street) Nish, just off Bulgaria Boulevard 29, but other venues are used around the surrounding areas. They offer weekly evening and weekend yoga classes including ashtanga yoga, vinyasa flow yoga, hatha yoga and homeopathy sessions. They also organise events with guest teachers and have recently joined in the biggest yoga event of 2015, both here in Bulgaria and also in the UK – (International yoga day which was held on June 21st).

Tomorrow is July 1st and summer is in full swing here in Bulgaria. Lots of events and in particular the summer opera festival in Veliko Tarnovo – Stage of the Ages.
In partnership with the Sofia Opera and Ballet the festival will boast one of the first Bulgarian opera works “Borislav” which will open the event on July 24. The whole festival will run from July 24th – Aug 1st 2015. There will be 6 performances for you to enjoy:

Rock climbing is an extreme activity and millions of people all around the world love it. Veliko Tarnovo is a rock climbers Mecca. The town is the old medieval capital of Bulgaria and is situated in the Yantra gorge. Just outside of Veliko Tarnovo are two well developed crags called St. Trinity and Usteto. These two crags provide a plethora of routes across a wide range of grades. You can reach the rocks by two different ways. One of them starts only a couple of minutes away from the village of Samovodene (10km from VT) and the other from the northeast part of the town. The views overlooking the Dervent Valley, and the town itself make it one of the most beautiful and popular venues for climbing in the whole of Bulgaria. With each year, more routes are added and this highly respected climbing venue is visited by climbers from all over the world. On June 14 The Imperial Russian Ballet Company will perform Swan lake…the most loved classical ballet of them all. The masterpiece ballet will follow the original storyline with a few subtle revisions by Gedimas Taranda – artistic director of the Imperial Russian Ballet Company.
Tchaikovskys masterpiece will take place at the Palace of Culture and Sport in Veliko Tarnovo.

The Regional History Museum in Veliko Tarnovo is taking part and organizing The Night of Museums and Galleries initiative for 11th year in a row. This year the event will take place on 15th May, Friday, the venue being the Middle Ages churches located at the foot of Tsarevets Fortress; this year’s edition will be dedicated to the 830th anniversary of the Uprising of the Asen and Petar.
The Church of Saints Petar and Paul will be open for free visits from 5 pm till 1 am; guides on the site will be telling about the history of the church to everyone. The Church of St Demetrius of Thessaloniki and The Holy Forty Martyrs Church and the Great Lavra Monastery will be available from 7.30 pm onwards; entrance is again free.
