The Health Minister of Bulgaria has issued some new orders regarding sports events, schools, universities and entry into the country.
From May 19th a negative PCR or antigen test is not required for entry into Bulgaria for children under 5 years of age who are Bulgarian citizens, citizens of EU Member States, Schengen countries, the UK, the Australian Union, Canada, the USA, Japan, New Zealand, China, Rwanda, Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay, United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Ukraine, Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Russia, Israel, Kuwait, Belarus and Turkey. This is what the Minister of Health ordered with his order issued on May 18th.
By order from May 19th, entry into Bulgaria is temporarily forbidden for people arriving from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Maldives, Brazil and countries and territories in Africa. An exception is made for Bulgarian citizens and people with the status of permanent or long-term residence in our country and their family members. Bulgarian citizens and people with the status of permanent or long-term residence on the territory of Bulgaria and their family members arriving from these places are subject to a 10-day quarantine. The order also specifies countries and territories in Africa that do not fall within the scope of the ban on entry into our country.
From May 31st, the in-person learning process of all students is allowed. From the same date, it is allowed to conduct group activities, activities of interest, and other extracurricular activities, organized in schools and clubs. Moreover, as of May 19th, the ban on conducting face-to-face learning in universities will be lifted.
From May 19th, outdoor sports competitions will be held with no more than 50% of the seats occupied. The audience must keep a distance of 1.5 m and wear protective face masks.
