The installation process of the surface of the new running track at Ivaylo Town Stadium in Veliko Tarnovo is now complete. Next week the horizontal markings for the running lanes will be drawn. After that the running track which is one of the most advanced in the country will be ready for use. The athletics track conforms to the highest standards of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

Two internationally-renowned musicians – Roberto Quintero and Juan Garcia-Herreros – are to visit Veliko Tarnovo where they will perform a concert alongside the Bulgarian group – Banda Del Padre. The show will take place on 10th August, from 9 pm, at Asenevtsi Monument.
Robert Quintero has played with some of the biggest names in rumba, salsa and Latino-jazz genres – Eddie Palmieri, Cachao, Gerardo Rosales, Richard Bona as well as Mark Anthony. He has won 2 Grammy awards and also has another nomination.
Juan Garcia-Herreros, also known as “The Snow Owl”, is a native born Colombian Bassist & Composer, notable for his virtuoso musicianship and for his use of a customised 6-stringed Electric Contrabass Guitar. He plays a variety of genres – jazz, funk, salsa, ethno and Latino. He has played alongside Al Jarreau, Shakira, Kristina Aguilera and Elton John.
Banda Del Padre was created 3 years ago and is the only Bulgarian group for Spanish and Fusion genres in Bulgaria.

Tomorrow, 4th August, the Summer Theatre in Marno Pole Park will host a one-off projection of the 2014 Bulgarian movie Urok (The Lesson), directed by Christina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov. It is one of the most awarded Bulgarian flicks for the last 25 year, having won 12 awards and being nominated for another 7 at various international film festivals. Maybe your Bulgarian is not so good but still you can savour the atmosphere and enjoy a niece movie under the starry skies. Entrance is free.

Second Honey Fest in Elena
The second Honey feast in the town of Elena will take place on July, 25th (Saturday) from 10.30 am at the town’s square. Many folklore singers and musicians as well as dance formations will take part in the celebrations. Visitors will hear interesting facts about honey, honey products and bees. They will also be presented with the opportunity to taste different types of honey – linden, acacia, honey dew and thistle.
