Aerial tramway in Veliko Tarnovo?

tramArchitecture students from Sofia have made a suggestion for the Veliko Tarnovo Municipality to install an aerial tramway over Yantra River. They believe that the town is very suitable for a cable car due to its unique natural setting. It will be used for a means of public transportation but also as a tourist attraction. The aerial lift will span over Yantra River and will connect the Old Town with a point across the river, near the Stambolov Bridge. Spectacular views of Asenevtsi Monument, Sveta Gora Hill and the tiered houses on the opposite bank of the river will be revealed from the air. The students also envisage bright lights to illuminate the river banks and the transformation of old street phones into electronic tourist guides. We are yet to see if these projects are to be realized.
