The seventh Dixie Jazz Fest will happen from 10^th  till 12^th July. The organizers are promising three hot summer nights full of jazz, funk and groove as well as live acts from very good Bulgarian musicians and foreign participants.

The stage will be set up at Assenevtsi Monument. The festival kicks off at 7.30 pm on 10^th July with an exhibition of the photos that have captured some of the hottest moments of last year’s show.The hosts from Royal Dixie Band will be the first to play. Well-known Bulgarian bands and young artists as well as guests from Serbia, Romaina and Switzerland will also be performing during three days of the fest.

Each evening after the concerts are finished the party is to be continued at Melon club with live jam sessions. All the events on the festival programme are free.

Project Art Summer 2014 will delight us with a beer festival and lots of live music from 13^th till 15^th June. The event will take place at Asenevtsi Monument, aka Konnitsite; 5 bands and the 2012 World Beatbox Champion Skiller will perform on the stage. The show starts on Friday, 13^th June from 8 pm. On Saturday live acts kick off at 5 pm. Football fans will able to watch The World Cup matches live from Brazil on a big screen. It’s going to be a great festival with lots of live music, beer and of course football. Come and join the party.

Stage of the Ages

Madame Butterfly, Giselle, Zorba the Greek, Gianni Schicchi and Cavalleria rusticana (Rustic Chivalry) are the five operas we are going to see this year during the summer opera festival Stage of the Ages which will be held at Tsarevets Fortress. The largest festival in Veliko Tarnovo will take place from 2nd till 10th August.

Puccini’s Madame Butterfly will open the show; it will be performed on 2nd and 3rd August from 9 pm. On 5th August opera fans will be able to see Adolf Adam’s Giselle. Admirers of fine ballet art can savour Zorba the Greek by Mikis Theodorakis on 6th August. On 9th and 10th are the presentations of Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana and Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. Continue Reading
