The COVID-19 morbidity in Bulgaria is slowly declining

According to the Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov, there is a fragile tendency of reduction of the number of coronavirus cases in Bulgaria, but the number of hospitalized remains high. 74% of the beds for uncomplicated patients on a national basis are occupied, and 65% is the share of patients in intensive care. The average age of those hospitalized is 53 years.

New measures after the increase of infected in the Veliko Tarnovo region

By order of the director of RHI – Veliko Tarnovo, Dr Evgenia Nedeva, the epidemiological measures in the district are tightened. From 16th to 29th March it is prohibited to hold mass public events – celebrations, fairs, festivals etc. on the territory of the district. Markets and marketplaces must provide a distance of one and a half meters between stands. In shopping malls and food and non-food chains, a pass regime must be introduced to avoid crowding.

Tightening of the anti-epidemic measures in Veliko Tarnovo district

Restriction of mass events, festivals, markets, marketplaces, etc. was recommended by the Regional Crisis Headquarters for Combating K-19 in Veliko Tarnovo to the Municipality. For the period 26.02 – 11.03 a 14-day morbidity of 277.3 per 100 thousand people was reported for the district of Veliko Tarnovo. When the critical level of 300 per 100,000 people is reached, additional anti-epidemic measures will be introduced. The Veliko Tarnovo district has been in the red zone since February 27th. The monitoring of the compliance with the anti-epidemic measures will be strengthened, including the wearing of masks.

New anti-epidemic measures in the Veliko Tarnovo district

There has been an increase in the newly infected people registered in the Veliko Tarnovo district. The morbidity has jumped to nearly 200 per 100,000 people. 157 people were diagnosed in the last 3 days alone. As a result, the Regional Health Inspectorate in Veliko Tarnovo has ordered the suspension of scheduled admissions and scheduled hospital operations from today (Monday). Visits to hospitalized people are forbidden, and everyone who enters a hospital must wear a protective mask and will have their temperature taken at the entrance.
