Veliko Tarnovo was nominated for tourist municipality of 2018. The old capital is among the nominees for the annual business tourism awards – Bulgarian Travel Awards and the voting continues until March 31. The nominees are the municipalities of Varna, Samokov, Sliven, Devin, Kyustendil, Vratsa, Bansko, Veliko Tarnovo and Velingrad.
The tenth edition of Trabant Fest will be held at the weekend in Veliko Tarnovo
Collectors and lovers of the legendary socialist vehicle Trabant will gather for the tenth-anniversary edition of “Trabant Fest – Veliko Tarnovo”. This year’s event will take place on March 16 /Saturday/ and is part of the pre-holiday program for the city’s holiday.
Unique “8 Grand Pianos Concert” will be held in Veliko Tarnovo
A unique concert will delight fans of classical music in Bulgaria this autumn. For the first time in Bulgaria, after its spectacular success in Germany, a project of this scale will be realized. The organizers ensure an exceptional experience for the audience in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Veliko Tarnovo. The “8 Grand Pianos Concert” is one of the closing events in the Plovdiv 2019 program. 8 pianos, 16 pianists and 32 hands will perform 4 concerts on the territory of Bulgaria – in Veliko Tarnovo, Plovdiv, Sofia and Varna. The pianists come from different countries – Germany, Italy, Russia, Canada, Korea, Japan, Slovakia, the Philippines and Bulgaria of course.

The celebration of the National holiday of Bulgaria in Veliko Tarnovo will begin with a military ritual at 10.30 in front of the building of the municipality. The mayor eng. Daniel Panov will give a festive speech and he will give the Academic Award March 3rd to a cadet from the National Military University.
